After the storm
Typhoon number 10 passed us today.
This typhoon was unusally slow in moving past Japan and has caused considerable damage.
Sunsets are always so beautiful after a typhoon passes.

Jia Pengfang at Tobu Ikebukuro
Went to look for a friend's birthday present and was fortunate to hear a free concert by Jia Pengfang. Jia is a famous erhu (Chinese Fiddle) player.
Bought two of his cd's and got them signed.

Chuck Berry in Tokyo
A friend of mine's Aunt's husband's brother is the the bassist for Chuck Berry
and he got us back stage passes to see the king of Rock and Roll.

A strange phenomenon that I've noticed over the past few weeks is the number of minature models popping all over my co-workers desks.
They range from tanks, figurines, to animals. What's going on?

Festival season and the Yukata
Japan has many great summer festivals. Fireworks are one of them. Girls tend to wear something called a "Yukata" which is only worn during the summer. You'll see girls all over Tokyo wearing them.
